What information do I need to provide to book the reservation?
We only accept Visa, Master Card, or PayPal. We need the following
information to process your card: credit card you are using; full name
as it appears on the credit card; billing address for the credit card; 16
digit credit card number; expiration date of the credit card; three digit
security code on the back of the credit card; your e-mail address; and
your phone number. We will bill your card for a $500 security deposit
and bill the same card for your rental amount 35 days before occupancy.
Besides the quoted rental amount are there any other fees or taxes?
No, with one exception. A non-refundable $125 fee for our European Cleaning service will be deducted from your Security Deposit. We absorb all other costs in renting the Lighthouse.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations 60+ days before occupancy will receive Full Refund of
Deposit (except for a $25 payment processing fee) and Full Refund of
Rent; 36 to 59 days before occupancy will receive No Refund of Deposit
and Full Refund of Rent; 35 days or less will receive No Refund of
Deposit and 50 % Refund of Rent.
What are your rental rates and how are they determined?
Our rental rates are based on a one -week rentals and range from $850 a week in the low season, to $2100 a week in the high season. Discounts may be available for longer stays. Our rates are fluid and are based on supply and demand as well as season and length of stay. Contact us for specific rates for specific weeks.
Where is the Lighthouse located?
On a bluff on the ocean side (south) of Pacific Coast Highway in the city of Dana Point.
What is Niguel Beach Terrace at Strand Beach?
Niguel Beach Terrace is a condominium complex consisting of owner
occupied units, long- term rentals, and about 40 vacation rentals.
You say the Lighthouse is the finest location in Niguel Beach Terrace, what makes its location the finest?
It is located on a quiet greenbelt and has enough elevation to provide an ocean view from the Living Room, Guest Bedroom, & West Patio. The Lighthouse does not face the parking lot, Selva Road, or Pacific Coast Highway, and it is the closest walk to the beach.
Do you allow children?
Yes, the Lighthouse is particularly “kid” friendly as it has a port-a-crib,
air beds, boogie boards, beach toys, games, videos, DVDs and children’s
books. Each room has its own TV and VHS /DVD player; and the Guest
Suite (kids room) is separated from the Master Suite by a hall and two
full bathrooms.
Do you allow smoking?
No. The Lighthouse provides a hypoallergenic environment for our
guests. We ask that you not smoke on the patios as well. If you or your
guests have to smoke please go outside the unit to the greenbelt area to
do so.
Do you allow pets?
No. Pets are not allowed for the same reasons as the previous question. If you must travel with your pets we can recommend kennels in the Dana Point area where they can be boarded.
What is included in the Lighthouse Rental?
It might be easier to answer what is not included. But here goes.
Linens including extra sets, bath and beach towels, beach items, pots, pans, dishes, modern appliances & extras including, espresso machine, waffle maker, etc., games, videos, books, HDTV/DVR service in the Living Room, full cable service including HBO & Starz, DVD/VHS players for all three TVs, broadband, WiFi internet connection, PC computer, and local phone service.
What is the parking situation in renting the Lighthouse?
Guests have their own private covered parking space. Also, in the immediate area there are 9 guest parking spaces as well as ample street parking close by on Selva Rd.
What are your check- in and check- out times?
Most of our rentals are from Saturday to Saturday. Our check-out time
is 11:00 am and our check-in time is 4:00 pm. This gives our cleaning
crew time to thoroughly clean the Lighthouse between guests.
What are the pool and spa hours?
The pool and spa hours are from 8 am to 10 pm. The pool is solar heated
year round at 86 degrees F.
What is the funicular?
The funicular is a inclined elevator that runs from the top of the bluff
at the North Beach entry, and it runs down along the side of the North
Stairs. The funicular is open daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day
(last Monday in May to first Monday in September), and on weekends
and holidays the rest of the year. Best of all the funicular is free!
